Social Media Manager, Car And Driver YouTube Channel

This position is primarily concerned with implementing the social strategy for Car and Drivers new premium content YouTube channel and cultivating the community around the channel.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in devising a strategy to best cultivate Car and Drivers YouTube community, using both the tools of YouTube and of Hearsts mens enthusiast brand properties.
Nurture and grow Car and Drivers fan base through social engagement
Work with channel talent to best grow their audience
Seek out and nurture outside relationships dedicated to growing our community base
Research and test the latest in audience growth theory
Advise content development with an eye toward optimal social impact
Cultivate audiences beyond the core enthusiasts
Develop video names and meta tags that enhance discoverability

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five years of web audience development with a focus on video
Must have experience interacting with and growing audiences through social tools
Must have experience with YouTube and their audience development tools

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of the YouTube community and how it communicates
Familiarity with web videos and their attributes, including general SEO best practices
Proficient in Facebook and Twitter tools, with knowledge of the most up to date improvements to those tools
Extensive knowledge of the various methods used to grow audience
Interest in and knowledge of cars and the automotive industry, with an ability to engage with fans of that industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal negotiation skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Attention to detail and pride in high-quality execution of work
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically with others
Keeps abreast of latest trends in web-based and social television
