MTV World, a Viacom Media Networks division focused on global pop music and culture, and a creative engine, content and production resource for advertising partners, is looking for a Creative Director and Executive Producer. This role is responsible for developing an overall creative vision for the divisions consumer brands, overseeing all aspects of production so as to increase the brands reach and connect with its global-minded audiences, as well as expand its role as a creative resource for MTVNs advertising sales group. This is an ideal position for a candidate who is seasoned but can work successfully in an entrepreneurial environment and has a strong desire to innovate. The role includes generating and pitching creative ideas on a regular basis, shaping and nurturing the new brands emerging from the division, developing new video formats and franchises, managing production teams, and networking within and outside MTV Networks to create synergies and establish relationships with key partners. Reporting to the SVP of the division, the Creative Director and Executive Producer will work closely with the divisions Programming, Editorial and Marketing teams, and various MTV Network departments and affiliates. The role is strongly focused on emerging pop music trends from around the world. Deep knowledge of music and music related video production is a key requirement. Familiarity with digital technologies and distribution platforms is a must.

Description
The successful incumbent will:
Be an innovative thinker driven by the passion to push the boundaries of creativity
Conceive an overall creative vision and framework for various MTV World brands including all elements of website graphical elements and video packaging
Manage all levels of television productions from concept through completion: hands-on producing, budgeting, casting, scripting, production team management, rights & clearances and post-production supervision
Develop and periodically re-invent the content production plan for all MTV World brands and ensure that there is regular daily/weekly/monthly creation of video and audio content that feeds the brands including but not limited to short form video, countdowns, round-ups, interviews, live music performances, webcasts, streaming audio, video and audio playlists etc.
Conceive and oversee creation of ad sales pitches focused on branded content
Hire, train and manage production staffs include hosts and VJs; have the ability to manage a group of producers within their total production team
Be responsible for developing/pitching ideas on a regular basis and taking those ideas through to completed product
Be responsible for creative strategizing for all productions (the look, feel and attitude of a production), interfacing with management and teams to ensure the program produced is representative of the MTV World brand, and expediting needs for press, marketing, graphics, music talent and promotion
Be responsible for planning and organizing the production teams space, studio, set design and equipment needs, and oversee the production management process in general
Be responsible for hiring, training and motivating production staff
Be responsible for building relationships and synergies with MTV creative and production teams in the USA and in key International markets
Participate with production staff in brainstorming programming ideas
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a senior/supervising/executive producer at a well regarded network or cable network (or the equivalent)
Experience with and deep knowledge of the digital media landscape
Experience working on live (or live to tape) studio productions, as well as reality
Experience working on taped shows/strips ideally both as a hands on producer and as an executive producer overseeing creative
Must be able to demonstrate creativity and creative thinking over career span
Must bring some background taking pitches and sifting through various show ideas (i.e. working as a creative executive) would be an added bonus
Extensive knowledge of the US market, as well as familiarity with and passion for pop culture from around the world
Strong management experience in a leadership role
Ability to travel and work late hours
Extensive production experience required: field work, writing, editing and strong storytelling
Need to have pop culture sensibility and knowledge of music
Strong business and personal ethics
Strong recommendations from within the industry
